Hey!

Bella Chauny is an actor/singer/dancer from Lima, Perú. She was introduced to the performing arts by her mom, who took her to every musical production she could find in Lima. Growing up in Peru, there were limited opportunities for young performers, and that’s why at age fourteen she took matters into her own hands and took a two-hour bus ride every day to “El Centro de Lima” to sing in the Juan Diego Florez Municipal Choir and act in local theater productions. This led her to begin her professional dance career as a member of the Arturo Chumbe Dance Company, where she performed on local TV shows for a year. Her journey then took her from the stages of Perú to Buenos Aires, but the country’s worsening situation forced her to leave again in search of new opportunities. This brought her to Webster.

At Webster, she has embraced a range of roles, including:

♡  Lizzie in Lizzie the Musical

♡  Fairy Godmother in Cinderella

♡  Estrella in Sueño
♡  Dockdaisy in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui
♡  St. Thomas/St. Matthew in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot

Her work extends to film as well, with credits in Shifting Tides (Dir. Ricky Fishbeck), I'm Here (Dir. Haroto Fujimoto) and He Saw the Devil (Dir. Griffin Wiebelt).

Bella is grateful for her community in the U.S. and hopes to continue making her family proud. Like my mami says: “Otra raya al tigre!”
